Shoa-Kai Liu is an experienced early stage technology investor with substantial operating and management experience. Presently, he serves as a Senior Advisor to Cendana Capital and as a Venture Partner for Mobility Ventures in Dallas. Before joining Cendana Capital, he was a Senior Advisor at Rustic Canyon Partners, an early stage VC firm in Santa Monica. He has 25 years of diverse technical and management experience in telecommunication networks and services, data and optical networking, and semiconductors. Shoa-Kai is also a proven entrepreneur, serving as co-founder and Vice President of Market Development at Avanex (NASDAQ: AVNX), where he helped the company grow into one of the largest optical component suppliers worldwide during the period of 1997- 1999. Shoa-Kai graduated from Northern Illinois University with a MSCS,
earned an MSEE at George Washington University, and earned an M.B.A. focused on International Management from the University of Dallas.
Mohit Bhushan is the SVP of Business Development and Sales in Movandi. He was previously Vice President and General Manager of Corporate Marketing at MediaTek and Vice President of Converged Products Category for Motorola Mobility. Mohit has several years of wireless industry experience, starting as an Engineer in 1993 at Qualcomm. In 2002, he advanced into a Strategic Marketing role in Qualcomm’s Technologies and Ventures group. From 2004-2010, Mohit managed Qualcomm’s UMTS product-line. Mohit led the definition of chipsets for smartphones and tablets, built strong customer relationships, and contributed significantly in establishing Qualcomm’s UMTS chipset business. Since January 2011, Mohit was managing the Atrix and Xoom products at Motorola Mobility. Mohit was a founding member of startup focused on IP-enabled wireless base stations. He is presently serving as an advisor to Smartplay Technologies based in India. Mohit Bhushan holds a BSEE from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, MSEE from University of Kentucky and an MBA from San Diego State University.
Niel recently retired from as Senior Vice President at Nokia which he joined in 2012 and since that time has served as Nokia’s executive leader for T-Mobile, responsible for the business management and development of Nokia efforts with the T-Mobile Wireless network and the company’s IT services and operations. At Niel’s helm, Nokia has grown Nokia’s market share, exceeded its orders and revenue targets annually since his appointment, while maintaining its year over year growth in all other financial measurements. He culminated his time at Nokia by guiding and leading them to the largest development agreement in their history and the largest 5G agreement with T-Mobile US- valued at 3 plus Billion USD.
Niel joined Nokia after a successful Executive leadership career at Nortel. Niel was a member of the Global Executive Leadership Team for Nortel. Prior to his executive appointment his background included intensive and successful time spent in all facets of Sales Leadership, Development, Engineering and Marketing in the telecommunications arena, including Wireless, Fixed, Core, Optical and Enterprise.
Prior to migrating to the US, he held various leadership positions with Nortel in Canada. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Lethbridge and Executive MBA from University of Western Ontario. He currently is asked upon frequently as an Industry Wireless SME and business advisor.
Allwyn Sequeira is currently CEO, Highway9 Networks, a newly founded startup based in Silicon Valley.
Prior, Allwyn served several executive roles at VMware, most recently serving as SVP/GM or Telco Cloud BU, and prior SVP/GM Hybrid Cloud Services, and prior SVP/GM of vCloud Air, VMware’s Cloud. Prior, Sequeira was VP R&D and CTO, Network & Security BU, responsible for R&D and delivery of vSphere Networking and the industry leading SDN platform NSX, including integration of Nicira NCP and VMW Network & Security solutions.
Sequeira joined VMware in 2008, via the acquisition of the leading security virtualization company, Bluelane, where he served as SVP Products & CTO. From 2000, Sequeira was EVP/CTO and Board member at internet route control company netVMG, acquired by InterNap in 2004.
From 1993, Sequeira was founder, EVP Products & CTO, and Board member at data/video/voice networking company First Virtual Communications, which had a successful IPO in 1998.
Sequeira has more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, and is a recognized leader in the areas of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, network & security, internet solutions. Sequeira has led several industry innovations, including hybrid / telco / edge cloud platforms, SDN (NSX, VXLAN), distributed routing, firewalls & load balancers, and security virtualization (vShield).
Sequeira holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
